All Saints High School Youth Group meets weekly on Sunday nights at 7pm  in the basement (round the back).  We are off for the summer but will resume again on August 6th at 7pm.  Hope you’ll join us!

Every Christmas season we do a progressive dinner, where three families host the high school youth group in their home for each part of a three-course meal. At the Pollock-Nelson’s, we had appetizers and Richard showed us his hand-bound journals. It was an excellent opportunity for them to get to know him as well as appreciate his craft. When we went to the Parker’s for the main meal, the kids got a kick out of their sense of humor, and Nancy and Steve even took us to their dance studio in the basement where we danced some salsa.

For desserts, we joined the Teets, played with their boys, and did our traditional white elephant gift exchange. This was a testament to inter generational relationship-building: where you grow relationships, you can also grow faith.

All Saints high school youth group has also been participating in a regional gathering called Refuge. Refuge is a youth-led worship service between 6 churches: Lord of the Hills Lutheran, All Saints, St. Philip Lutheran, St.Mark’s/St.Stephen’s, and Bethany Lutheran. Youth groups take turns providing theme content, hospitality (potluck), and leading music for worship. Our themes follow ideas from the book “Daring Greatly” by Brené Brown. When it was All Saints’ turn, our theme was “cultivate authenticity; let go of what people think”. The students did a stellar job at leading worship, giving the sermon, having ice breaker games, and doing the potluck.

During regular youth group, we have met to do ice cream and fundraiser sign-ups, participated in Metro Caring’s toilet paper drive, and did our annual pumpkin carving.

Our High School Youth had such a life changing experience in Jamaica in 2014! They came back with such amazing stories of strength in their relationship with each other and their relationship with GOD. We at All Saints are all VERY proud of them all!
