Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
May 31st is the Day of Pentecost, fifty days after Easter Sunday celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples gathered in Jerusalem. (Acts 2:1-3)
Pentecost this year is going to be the beginning of our summer plans for additional opportunities for worship. Pentecost is the green season of the church and so we are “growing” our new life together as the Holy Spirit leads us.
We will be returning to the service of Holy Communion for our Sunday online worship. Families are encouraged to set-up a small area in their homes to serve as an altar and you are encouraged to bake communion bread together. Maybe set aside a particular plate and glasses to be used each Sunday for communion. We also encourage you to gather around the service at 9:30 on Sunday morning so that the whole community is together in the same time and space.
Additional we are going offer in-person worship with Holy Communion at three specific times on Sunday mornings. These groups will be limited to 10 people and you will need to sign up on the Sign-up Genius link below in this email. Masks will be required and 6 ft social distancing will be observed. We have a “safety crew” making sure all the surfaces are wiped after each worship and the times are spread out so that one group can leave before the other arrives to limit contact. We ask that you not participate if you are not feeling well and/or believe you have been exposed to COVID19. Every effort will be made to keep you safe at the same time giving you the opportunity to worship together.
